A question for UK outsourcers: I as well as translating German>English I run a small outrsourcing operation.

For my peace of mind, i like to hold a PI policy and renewal is almost due.

A key element of any policy for me is the clause whereby any claim against me for shoddy work carried out by an outsoucer could be subrogated, to use the jargon, by my insurer against the subcontractor's PI policy.

A key element of any policy for me is the clause whereby any claim against me for shoddy work carried out by an outsoucer could be subrogated, to use the jargon, by my insurer against the subcontractor's PI policy.

The insurers tell me that provided the subcon has signed my contract (a clause of which states that they shall hold their own PI policy) then my insurer would indeed be able to subrogate any claim.

I was wondering how this compares with the experience of other outsourcers and whether, n the case of a claim being made against work carried out by a subcon, this subrogation clause applied.

Ant recommendation/opinions om the various policies on the market would also be appreciated. ▲ Collapse
