Thanks, everyone, you really saved me a ton of time. I reported the person who seems to be working with that Joel fella on Skype, and reported Joel's email (the Huvepharma variant) as phishing. I have little hope that this will stop, though.

Well, they just did. They emailed me, signed Shreya Das, an "Employment Offer Contract", stating that they are "excited to have [me] on board and [they are] committed to providing [me] with the necessary resources for success. As part of [my] role, we require all employees to use time tracker software to calcula... Ok, I have to confess, I feel relieved because I thought they'd hacked me when I accessed their Skype link yesterday. This coincides with the first post in this thread. Good call!

I use Skype with the established clients only. In most cases, my clients use Skype remind me about their new job requests/assignments sent to me by email/through their job assignment system.
If you chat or talk with someone via Skype who wants to add you out of the blue, you would most likely end up wasting your time with a scammer or someone desperately looking for a bottom feeder.
If a new client who may have a legitimate request for information for potential jobs, I direct them to my email, and if they do send me a message by email, we go from there.
