Proz, take a hint. Some people show an image, not a face photo; some show their logo or some other distinctive symbol. I'm sure some people show a 1-month or 6-month-old photo. Who cares? You shouldn't.

I mean, would it be beyond ProZ to train some botshit algorithm to discern the age of people's photos? | | | | | I change my photo quite often | Jul 26, 2025 |

I didn't take the photo. Somebody else did. | | | | | What I see in the mirror is pretty much what my old pic shows | Jul 28, 2025 |
"Old" is, like, at least 10 years back. I bought a new phone lately and still haven't tested the camera. My one and only selfie was taken when I was in a vehicle park in the middle of nowhere and invented a funny way to wear my hat. I just wanted to take a look, and the only way I could do it was by using my then-new phone (not yet stolen). I'm in St. Pete, a place where people go to take pictures, and yet the only time I feel like taking pictures is when I'm out in the wild. Too bad you can't use a mobile phone camera to capture sunsets from some of the places I've been to. I mean, the camera does capture something, but it's never on par with what your eyes can see. I also had pictures of praying mantisses (one green, one yellow), a camel spider, a tarantula, and a big grasshopper. That dude was just sittting on my arm and posing, and jumped away when I was done filming. The yellow praying mantiss was also sitting on my arm as I showed him to the guys who were around. He turned his head looking at the circle of monsters around him and then decided that I was the main enemy. And he jumped right at where he thought the enemy's head was but landed on the arm again. His fight was over (that is, I let him go free, there's no way I'd kill him). Those pictures are all lost now. I had to visit a photo studio lately because I had to change my internal passport on reaching the age of 45. Maybe one day that picture will adorn (or disfigure) my profile page. Or maybe it won't... ▲ Collapse | | | |

I checked to see your photo as it doesn't display here? I wonder why? Contact support, maybe. | | | | Samuel Murray Holanda Local time: 04:02 Membro (2006) Inglês para Africânder + ... | @Mario, @Denis | Jul 28, 2025 |
I suspect most people don't have good photos of themselves and just pick a photo that makes them look normal, even if it's 10 years old. I recently had a professional photographer take some "nice" photos of me, but I look horrible in all of them. What I should do, perhaps, is take a picture with a grin, and then ask AI to replace my natural-looking yellow teeth with a sparkling white American smile.

This is actually a useful, relevant poll question. It is something that one often wonders about.

I actually rather liked most of my most recent passport photos, but since they're not delivered to me as digital files, I can't get a good scan of them.
