Transcription by ear is very error-prone, nor it was the standard practice in subtitling. I'd use Whisper if there was no prohibition from the client to utilize such tools. But nearly all of my clients nowadays already have a timed-text file in English. I just do the translation and make some timing adjustments when necessary.

By the way, is it just me, or ProZ has been really slow today? I'm not experiencing this sluggishness on other websites.

I don't do transcription and I don't use AI tools for subtitling.

I do not use AI for Transcription/Subtitling because I not Belive in AI Work.
