My maximum is 60 days, most of my clients pay at 30 days, one has always to be reminded, 3 customers pay the day after receiving the invoice…

The law is not obeyed
Mar 15, 2024
Theoretically, the limit here is 30 days
But the law is broken so consistently that nobody even takes it seriously
Not good, for anyone
Quite a disgrace, actually

30 days
Mar 15, 2024
As Justin stated, 30 days are the law, at least in the European Community.
My reason for accepting a maximum of 30 days is because I am a translator, not a bank.

Although it's hard to see even the most bureaucratic customer actually needing 30 days to check an invoice and issue a payment.
My best customer pays the same day, as I always used to back when I outsourced. It's simply good relationship management. I don't know why it doesn't catch on.

60 days but...

... can one really define that period?
I have clients who pay the moment they receive my invoice.
Others pay 30 days after the end of the month of my invoice.
Some require reminders or even an angry wake-up (phone) call...
Some never pay and disappear in thin air... this happened once, decades ago, and again some years ago with a bitcoin company. By the time I was trying to contact them they had all moved to different companies and geographies. I left a bad review ... See more

It depends on the amount of work
Mar 16, 2024
Years ago I worked for a Spanish agency that paid after 90 days. Obviously I didn't enjoy waiting for three months but after the first payment, it was like a regular wage (between €1000 and €2000) that was paid into my bank account every month. I stopped working for them because they changed their CAT tool and I increased my rate. Still, it was nice while it lasted!
