OmegaT is a wonderful free-to-use CAT tool, and it has all the features needed.

I use a CAT tool with a floating licence purchased by the agency that wants me to use it.
I have occasionally used the free version of it for repetitive files - twice in six years I think.

The situation with WFC is unclear... it's not 100% certain that it will stop working after 3 years (even if you regularly connect to the internet), but you're supposed to renew your subscription every 3 years. WFP definitely switches to demo mode when your subscription lapses.

The MemoQ purchase includes both updates and upgrades (i.e. to the next major version number) for the first 12 months. As far as I know, your MemoQ purchase also allows you access to all older versions of MemoQ (please correct me if I'm wrong). The Trados purchase includes updates that have the same major version number as the one that you've purchased, regardless of how many months it has been since you made the purchase. A Trados purchase is valid only for that version, and doesn't give you access to older versions of Trados. The WFC and WFP "purchase" includes updates or upgrades during the 3-year license period, and also gives you access to older versions of the software (if you can get your hands on the installer, somehow). ▲ Collapse

I am finding it increasingly difficult to define my "main" CAT tool.
The tool I have been using for the longest time - and that I still use for the occasional job with loose files rather than translation packages - is Trados Studio, for which I have a perpetual license, which I "renew" every now and then when the version I am currently using reaches its end of life or when there is a compelling upgrade offer (seriously, never pay full price for Trados).

However, as my biggest customer for the past 7 years appears to be phasing me out, I have been getting more memoQ server jobs from other, newer customers. Those customers assign a CAL server license for my work, so I have never paid a single penny for this tool. ▲ Collapse

I use WFC. I think it may be a one-time payment, although I might have re-registered and paid again at some point when changing compùters or whatever...

I have been using my Trados 2015 sometimes, the version is not updated so far, although now I use online cat tools more.

For now OmegaT is enough for me, I don't have many jobs.
But it often happens to me to use search engines for some terms whose meaning I have to interpret.
