My work is my CPD. Besides that, I do a lot of passive CPD reading books and articles in specialised areas. Over the years, I have attended a few conferences and webinars, but I must say that I have been time and again disappointed as the information they provide could often be summarised onto one sheet of paper. I attended a summer university course in 2017 to learn about neologisms' formation and use. From time to time, I think about going back to the university to take an international relati... See more

I learn everyday by translating, editing, proofreading or post-editing (and reading a few media just to keep in touch with current topics and the possibly new terminology that goes with it). The day I will start to follow courses will be the day I have time to do that, and that wouldn't be a good sign, would it? The last and only (miniature) course I ever followed was during the 1 month in pandemic 2020 in which my workload dramatically decreased and I slightly started panicing (luckily for no r... See more

I have really no idea how many hours I have spent on CPD - it is impossible to count.

I have been to a very good conference, and I have been reading a chapter here, an article there, listening to a radio discussion and so on all the time. Some is specifically CPD, because I need to know some background for a job, but a lot is picking up what I find along the way, collecting ideas and sorting out what I will do in future, e.g. about gender-neutral pronouns, which present different pr

Some is specifically CPD, because I need to know some background for a job, but a lot is picking up what I find along the way, collecting ideas and sorting out what I will do in future, e.g. about gender-neutral pronouns, which present different problems from one language to another and one culture to another.
Or clarifying terminology for re-use, recycling and sustainable development etc. ... There is plenty to keep an eye on!

I have done [sic] no Continuing Professional Development (CPD) this year.

However, I have continued to develop as a professional. At least, I hope so.

I'm currently doing a part-time Master's degree in my specialism so absolutely loads but I have no idea how I would track that.
