...or very shortly thereafter, especially when I have another project waiting or have a lot of other things that I have or want to do. The clients seem to like it that way, anyway, because they pay me almost immediately, or usually within a few days. Very conscientious on their part.

Depends! Regular customers: monthly invoices. New clients: together with the translation (until hopefully they become regular customers...)

I haven't had new customers in a while, so I haven't had to issue special invoices at intervals apart from my normal billing rhythm. All of my current customers receive an invoice on the last day of the month and pay after 30 days (more or less, depending on their payment schedule).

Basically, after the project is completed and the customer is satisfied, the invoice will be issued.

There are certain clients who I ask not to pay me until I reach a certain amount, there are other clients who I charge monthly since the cash amount of their jobs is less; and there are also clients who send relatively short and fast jobs who I charge as soon as I finish the job and before I deliver it.

If it is one-off, the invoice is sent together with the translation. If it is continuous, the invoice is sent at the end of the month.

I have one direct client, not an agency, and I bill them at the end of every month and they pay promptly. With the rest, it varies, but in general I issue the invoice when it suits the client - which is sometimes after the work is done, and sometimes before, again depending on the client.
