I haven’t been looking for new customers for a while, though I am always happy to meet a new client and proper due diligence is a must!

I always take care of due diligence, do not work with companies (translation agencies or direct clients) with bad reviews, and if I can't really find anything about them but it doesn't feel good, I don't proceed. As a result, I hardly have to send any payment reminders at all, and I've never had a non-payment issue in six years.

I've learned long ago how to identify and avoid undesirable clients. I haven't had issues with clients for a long time.

Though I am not actively looking for new clients, several years ago I was gullible and almost fell for a scam.

I do check any new clients, although I'm not sure my checks are really thorough enough. I haven't ever been scammed: thanks to accounts I've read in the scam section here, I have been able to recognise fishy emails as such. Touching wood nevertheless!
