Except for May, my work hasn’t decreased with the pandemic. I don’t spend much time online when I have no work at all. When I have work the time I spend researching terms online depends on the difficulty of the text. I’m so familiar with the material from some of my long-standing clients that I can cruise through many of their texts without any research… | | | | Muriel Vasconcellos (X) Estados Unidos da América Local time: 19:05 Espanhol para Inglês + ...
Several reasons:
- I haven't been spending time away from home on appointments, meetings, and get-togethers, so, when not working, my default has tended to be spending more time on my writing projects, research, news, etc. on the computer;
- Many of my previous appointments now take place on line, especially meetings and medical appointments;
- With so much to worry about in the world, I've become a news junkie. | | | | | Decreased for a while and then went back to usual | Sep 21, 2020 |
The "since the start of the pandemic" polls are sounding pretty useless over here because it had been months since the lockdown had been lifted and the industry started producing again. The work flow is back to normal as to what I was expecting for this time of the year.

because some of my usual activities have now gone online | | | | neilmac Espanha Local time: 04:05 Espanhol para Inglês + ... | About the same | Sep 21, 2020 |
I'm always online when I'm working, unless the Wi-Fi crashes or there is a power cut. I'm also online sometimes when not working as well.
Perhaps the query means "wasting time online, browsing social media etc." | | | | Elizabeth Tamblin (X) Reino Unido Local time: 03:05 Francês para Inglês | About the same | Sep 21, 2020 |
I'm online most of the time regardless of work.
I'm now answering more kudoz questions, attending classes and meetings with my professor every week on Zoom, and watching a lot of cable political talk shows online. Except in the first instance, I always find these activities to be a nice break from the massive translation projects I was involved in prior to the pandemic, not to mention very interesting and useful.

Online all the time! Like 70% unless I am sleeping | | | | Mr. Satan (X) Inglês para Indonésio | Increased ever so slightly | Sep 22, 2020 |
It increased a bit since I had more time to spare, as I returned to my long-time love for languages. I couldn't really do that in my previous job.
Until April I worked with 2 regular agency clients. One of them completely ghosted me until early September (after paying everything I had due), the other continued almost as usual. However, since it's not good to have all eggs in the same basket, I took several trainings, including some highlighted here, and got a few new clients to keep my income fairly the same. It helps to have my partner at home to take care of the kids full time!
Since the start of the pandemic, the time I spend online has....
...remained the same. My computer turns itself on at 0730 and normally, unless I'm busy, I clone my hard drive at 1700 and set the computer to shut itself down after that.
Those are the working hours (an hour ahead), in Italy, of most of my clients.
I like to NOT be on the computer in the evenings unless I have a Zoom meeting or something.
