In the EU most consumer products have multilingual labelling following a directive on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the labelling, presentation and advertising of foodstuffs but this legislation is being updated because according to the European Commission consumers’ expectations and the food market have evolved significantly in the meantime.
